They use discretion and judgement, work with some independence and under limited supervision, and follow clearly defined plans, policies, and procedures to guide their work activities. Specialisations are available for customer service officers, recreation officers, pool lifeguards, and swim teachers, but these are optional for achieving this qualification. 

This qualification provides a pathway to employment in any sport, aquatic, or recreation organisation, including commercial, not-for-profit, community, and government organisations.
